ONI is a personal project that sought to bring a brand to life from product to marketing, start to finish. The product is an all-natural surfboard wax that was designed by me utilizing all-natural oils and a cocoa butter base, along with beets to give it a bright red hue. The wax was shaped into a triangle, in the vein of a Japanese onigiri, allowing for easy storage and transport. This homage is what inspired the name, ONI.

The brand itself relies heavily on Japanese folklore, using the recognizable imagery of Japanese Oni (demon) masks to bring the logo to life. In motion, the Oni rises from the dark of the container, itself inspired by the shape of the wax, its horns growing to an ominous point.
